Yes - I thought the board was quite clear that it supports an independent adjudicator process as well. 

For example, yesterday, Chris stated that the board supports a process for community to bring challenges against Board action that is alleged to be inconsistent with specified fundamental Bylaws, and supports a binding arbitration process that is enforceable in California Courts .   Chris also noted that ICANN would fund such community arbitrations.
