If I understand this correctly, "international private law" means
"conflict of laws" in the relationship/interactions between
individuals/companies from different countries.

THAT is what we need to look at.  Not only the Agreements with ICANN
per se but also for example the WHOIS issues which are different for
.AMSTERDAM/.BERLIN than for .NYC for example.
