ICANN Signs Service Level Agreement with Regional Internet Registries and Finalizes 2016 Supplemental Agreement with Internet Engineering Task Force

Today the Regional Internet Registries (RIRs) and the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) signed the Service Level Agreement (SLA) for the IANA Numbering Services at ICANN56 in Helsinki, Finland. This agreement will become effective on the date of the transition. ICANN also finalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Supplemental Agreement with the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) for the performance of the protocol parameters functions. This is one of the requirements of the IANA Stewardship Transition package of proposals. This agreement will become effective on the date of the transition.
