  Dear Team


  Apologies for intruding on your holidays if you have started already but I have something URGENT which was completely missed by me, and which I should have been passed on in a more timely manner.


  I had been sent the request from the new NomCom Chair, Damon Ashcroft and had a polite reminder from our APRALO NomCom rep. The response was required by today. I hope we can have a few days grace to contribute something of value to their deliberations about this particular topic. It must be noted that the NomCom have had no complaints from the ALAC about our current crop of new ALAC members.


  But it would be interesting to get the impressions of those who are new or those who have been in the role for a year of so, to hear what you would consider are the best personal characteristics, knowledge and skills, that would make for an effective ALAC member.


  If you can get a response to me before the end of next week (28th Dec) we will only be a week late, but hopefully the value of our contribution will make up for our tardy response. Looking forward to getting some information back from you all asap. It will be much appreciated.

  Dear Maureen,


  The 2019 Nominating Committee (NomCom) is planning to open this year’s NomCom application cycle mid-January 2019 and welcomes any updates to the ALAC skill sets/criteria descriptions that you may have.  It is important that you provide the NomCom with these suggested skill sets and criteria so that the NomCom can consider them when making its selections. 



  In preparation of the upcoming application period, any updates/changes to the ALAC skill set/criteria description should be returned to NomCom Staff Support: nomcom-ops-team at icann.org by 21 December 2018.  Please note that this year’s NomCom is not able to consider submissions of skill sets/criteria from prior years unless you affirmatively contact us this year by the 21st December deadline and request that the NomCom do so. 



  As reference, the description of the ALAC skill sets/criteria is outlined in the 2019 Leadership Positions document at: https://www.icann.org/nomcom2019-positions



  Additionally, the 2019 NomCom would like to know if you would be able to meet face-to-face with the 2019 NomCom during ICANN64 Kobe (or before ICANN64) to discuss the ALAC positions that the NomCom will be filling this year.  Please let us know your availability and we will schedule the meeting.
