Just to be clear, the CSC was set up exactly as dictated by the cross-community group that designed it. See Page 71 of https://community.icann.org/download/attachments/53779816/FinalTransitionProposal_11June.pdf .

Out of interest, is this observer status unique? Are other SOs/ACs also observers only? Did we choose that role or was it set up this way?

Dear Maureen, ALT, ALAC members

Back in 2016 ALAC decided to appoint me as its representative to PTI’s Customer Standing Committee ( CSC) for a period of 2 years terms ( ALAC voted decision here: http://atlarge-lists.icann.org/pipermail/alac-announce/2016-July/003236.html<https://bowtie.mailbutler.io/tracking/hit/24ba5a1d-b087-4623-8d94-70e2197d8709/d656e3e5-acf8-49bc-8ff4-adc1b4a7e150> ).

I was grateful and honored by the ALAC decision, after 2 years I would like to request ALAC to withdraw my appointment to CSC and appoint another member to CSC, my request is based on two main reasons which I shared with some of you privately before :
- my personal inability to actively participate in CSC after the 2 years period
- ALAC passive outlook to CSC activities might be because we are an observer only

I am happy to provide ALC replacement with any insights on CSC and support needed ( my previous PTI CSC reports are available in the mailing ).

Thank you

Kind Regards,
Mohamed
