<br>We have responded to the comments/questions that Olga submitted to Travel Policy but will of course provide a detailed response to A&T for the issues expressed here. <br><br>Does this mean that Louie Lee will be the person we should contact to schedule a meeting? Or given press of time for the committee there won't be a meeting opportunity and you will accept written responses to address the questions about the program?<br>

As I am currently presenting in my role as ALAC Chair to the fellowship, and am so being made aware of a number of established and being released changes (including full transparency of who the selectors are etc.,) already planned I will ask Janice / Mandy to prepare for the ATRT a briefing on these initiatives running now and what their plans are for the near and medium term future...<div>

I have just copy pasted below the comment I made in relation with the travel policy, that summarizes my concerns about the fellowship program.<br>
The real lack of transparency comes, in my modest opinion, in that the names of the selection committee are not know, neither their statements of interest.<br>
Also the selection process does not favor those countries far away from major cities where the meetings takes place.<br>
It could be good to know also how someone could be part of this selection committee, how are they selected, etc etc<br>

About the Fellowship program:<br>

Fellowship Selection Committee - Transparency:<br>
<br>
For making the selection process more transparent, the names of the members<br>
of the independent selection committee should be available in the ICANN web<br>
<br>
page, including their background and statement of interest.<br>
It could be good to know how they are selected, if there is a regular call<br>
for applications, and how long they serve in their positions.<br>
<br>
Fellow´s Selection Process:<br>
<br>
<br>
The geographically weighted process sets aside candidates of locations that<br>
are geographically very far away from most of the main cities of the world,<br>
like for example the southern cone of South America (Argentina, Chile,<br>
<br>
Paraguay, Uruguay). Candidates from these countries have usually less<br>
chances of being selected than others.<br>
A different selection process should be developed in order to solve this<br>
geographic gap.<br>
