The attached letter confirms the selection by the Accountability and Transparency Review Team (ATRT) of the Berkman Center for the Internet & Society at the Harvard Law School to act as an Independent Expert in supporting the ATRT’s review under the Affirmation of Commitments (AoC). The Berkman team will be contacting you shortly to initiate its work in collecting data, conducting interviews with ICANN staff and other research to support the ATRT’s formulation of final recommendations to the ICANN Board of Directors. I have copied Mr. Urs Gasser who will be overseeing the work of the Berkman team.

Given the relatively short time frame for Berkman and the ATRT to complete the review, your assistance in coordinating with Berkman on the interviews and data collection is most appreciated. We look forward to conducting this phase of the review with you and ICANN staff in a constructive and timely manner. Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me.
