WHOIS Policy Review Team Meeting: 20-21 September 2011 Marina del Rey19 September 2011With a view to issuing a draft final report by the ICANN Dakar meeting, the WHOIS Policy Review Team will hold a two-day face-to-face meeting in Marina del Rey (Los Angeles) on 20-21 September 2011. Silent observers are more than welcome to remotely attend this session. Comments, however, will not be taken and should be submitted during the next WHOIS Review Team’s Interaction with the Community session that will be held in Dakar on Wednesday, 26 October (foreseen timeslot: 14:30-16:00). Such existing policy requires that ICANN implement measures to maintain timely, unrestricted and public access to accurate and complete WHOIS information, including registrant, technical, billing, and administrative contact information. […]. The WHOIS Policy Review Team is composed of ten SO/AC representatives, two independent experts, one Law Enforcement representative, the ICANN President and CEO (Selector)’s designated nominee, and the Chair of the GAC (Selector)’s designated nominee. It then solicited the Community’s feedback on its Discussion Paper [PDF, 182 KB] in June 2011 – http://www.icann.org/en/announcements/announcement-09jun11-en.htm – and issued a Request for Proposals for a WHOIS Consumer Trust Research in July 2011.
