I have just posted an article discussing the legal and policy implications of the Megaupload prosecution at http://www.circleid.com/posts/megabusts_megaquestions_cloud_the_nets_future/ .

The article discusses such matters as:

*         Where the dividing line now stands between civil and criminal copyright enforcement.

*         The rights (or lack thereof) of cyberlocker/cloud service users when their service provider is shut down by law enforcement.

*         The potential  impact of the prosecution on cyberlockers and other cloud services, particularly those with U.S. legal nexus.

*         The likelihood of similar prosecutions being brought in the future.

*          What the prosecution means for legislation targeting "rogue foreign websites".

*         The clash between the "war on piracy" and the evolution of the Internet and general purpose computing.

I hope you find the article to shed some reasonable light on these important issues, and would certainly appreciate any feedback.
