First of all, welcome to the ccPDP3 Review Mechanism Working Group and thank you all for volunteering!!

As most of you know, ICANN67 will not take place in Cancún, but is now a virtual meeting. You may also be aware the ccNSO Council has in principle cancelled meetings that are not “urgent and necessary” and advised groups to move forward with their regular schedule. The first meeting of this working group will therefore be conducted on-line.

The ccNSO Chair and staff recently conducted a webinar to members of the GAC introducing them to the working group and inviting them to participate. Further, in accordance with the Charter of the this WG, the ccNSO Council has reached out to other SO/ACs and PTI staff, also inviting them to participate – and they are subscribed to the list.

Moving forward:
Over the next week, support staff will send out a Doodle poll for the first meeting of this WG. To avoid overlap with the ccPDP Retirement WG, we will target Tuesdays or Wednesdays. As indicated in the call for volunteers and webinar, the meeting of this WG will be scheduled on a rotational basis, and once every two weeks.

The first meetings of the WG will be mostly administrative in nature:

  *   At the first meeting, you will be asked to nominate your chair and vice-chair, who will then be appointed by the ccNSO Council.
  *   The WG is strongly advised to discuss and agree on “Rules of Engagement”. These rules are intended to guide the internal working method of the group. The Retirement WG has developed a set of “Rules” which could be a good starting point for this WG as well.
  *   Review of Charter (wiki<https://community.icann.org/x/ZAuJBw>) and agree on high-level working plan. The schedule of the overall ccPDP3 sets dates, which – although not cast in stone – list milestones of the Review Mechanism WG. This schedule will be presented.
