please find included some high-level notes from today’s ccPDP4 meeting, held on 8 September at 12 UTC.

  1.  Welcome & Introduction


Welcome by Bart Boswinkel, main staff support and Issue Manager

Bart will be chairing today’s meeting.

2.                   Agenda bashing


The agenda was circulated ahead of the meeting.

Any comments/suggestions regarding the proposed agenda? none


3.                   Administrative matters


a.                  Start of Nomination chair and vice-chair


Currently no Chair or Vice Chair appointed. Members of this group are expected to nominate them. The members are those affiliated with a ccTLD manager, and who are appointed by the ccNSO Council.  Self-nominations are possible as well. Process: nomination, followed by at least one seconding.

Council will most likely appoint the Chair and Vice Chair at its October 2020 Council meeting. Until that date, Bart will chair the meetings.


     *   Meeting frequency and call rotation


To be determined. Both people from the US time zone and AP time zones are attending.

Rotation suggestion: 6 or 8 hours. Works well for other groups.


     *   Introducing the Rules of Engagement (required under charter) – attached, please review prior to call


Draft version was already circulated. Will be on the agenda during the next meeting.


4.                   Tour de table: Members, participants, observers and staff briefly to introduce themselves.


o    Who are you?

o    where are you based?

o    Your affiliation?

o    Why do you participate?

o    What is your experience in IDN related matters to date?


5.                   Introduction to the WG


Background presentation to set the stage for all. Some of you might have seen the presentation already.

4 topics:

  1.  Why do we have ccPDP4?
  2.  What does it mean to have a ccNSO Policy Development Process, addressing as well the charter
  3.  Next steps in the coming weeks
  4.  Reference and background material
