I manage several domains and it is a constant challenge to keep clients from clicking on fake, overpriced, domain registration emails taking advantage of their ignorance about how things work. The high price has been the biggest reveal. Climbing prices for the real thing only contributes to an internet environment riddled with suspicion & distrust.
