I am writing about the .org contract renewal. ICANN has control of the .org gTLD as a public trust that predates the existence of ICANN by many years. It is entirely inappropriate for ICANN to abdicate its responsibility to ensure that registration pricing is reasonable. If it is no longer convenient for ICANN to manage legacy gTLDs appropriately, they should give them up to a new body that will.
