</o:shapelayout></xml><![endif]--></head><body lang=EN-US link="#0563C1" vlink="#954F72"><div class=WordSection1><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-AU><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-AU>To whom it may concern,<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-AU><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-AU>I am somewhat concerned about the unlimited/unregulated price increase rule change proposed for the .org domains which can be acted upon by registrar members which is outlined in the following section:<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-AU><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><strong><span lang=EN-AU style='font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif'>Pricing for Domain Name Registrations and Registry Services (Section 2.10 of the .org renewal agreement):</span></strong><span lang=EN-AU> <i>In alignment with the base registry agreement, the price cap provisions in the current .org agreement, which limited the price of registrations and allowable price increases for registrations, are removed from the .org renewal agreement.</i><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-AU><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-AU> The .org domain is primarily targeted towards organisations who are for the larger part non profit in nature and whilst the cost of domain registration is potentially a small component of overall operational expense cost a change that allows uncontrolled mark up of renewal and/or registration costs that could lead to an increased barrier to maintain web presence, increase domain snipering and squatting. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-AU><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-AU>I would recommend that such alterations outlined in section 2.10 of the .org renewal agreement be reviewed and left as they currently reside.
