I would like to confirm that we’ll surely organize this extension, which will be
announced tomorrow. The announcement will only mention the closing date for
sending in applications, while there will be no mention to the deadline for
SO/ACs to send their endorsement, as to avoid misunderstandings.

<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN style="COLOR: #1f497d">The date of 7<SUP>th</SUP>
February was proposed by GNSO so as the Council can consider candidatures while
in Nairobi, with the request to not delay it any further, while Chris underlines
the value of Nairobi for the identification of candidates.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN style="COLOR: #1f497d">I think that both remarks are
fully legitimate, even if your different needs make it difficult to find a
compromise. If you’ll be able to find a solution which works better for
the whole of you along the lines that we discussed, please let me know by
tomorrow mid morning CET, otherwise I will proceed with the announcement; the
new deadline(s) –subject to final green light from Selectors- will therefore
