The GNSO and ccNSO CSC Selection Committees met on 02 August to consider the CSC liaisons and members. Following that meeting the GNSO CSC Selection Committee sends via this message to the GNSO Council the recommended list of CSC liaisons and members.</span><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman";color:black'><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><span style='font-size:11.0pt;color:black'> </span><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman";color:black'><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><span style='font-size:11.0pt;color:black'>Although the GNSO and ccNSO CSC Selection Committees recommend approval of the full slate of CSC liaisons and members to our respective Councils, the GNSO CSC Selection Committee believes, and imagines that other SOs and ACs might agree, that there are concerns with the timing of the process. We suggest that these concerns also should be raised to ICANN and the community when the ccNSO and GNSO convey their joint approval as a formal statement. </span><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman";color:black'><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><span style='font-size:11.0pt;color:black'> </span><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman";color:black'><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><span style='font-size:11.0pt;color:black'>First, both the ccNSO and GNSO Selection Committees agreed that although the full slate of members and liaisons fully embodies the skills and general diversity necessary for their roles, the GNSO CSC Selection Committee believes that the extreme time limitation for the selection process may have limited a broader diversity of candidates from being encouraged to apply. Furthermore, some potential candidates may not have applied due to the lack of time for outreach to address questions or concerns about the skills needed for the member and liaison roles.
