<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt">As a follow-up to my correspondence regarding the circulation of the Final Report of the new gTLD Auction Proceeds Cross Community Working Group to the CCWG that I sent to you yesterday, please
permit me to provide you an update.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt">A minority statement has been formally filed by the Commercial Stakeholders Group (CSG) from the GNSO.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt">It’s pretty brutal with it’s objection to the “consensus” adoption of Mechanism A, which I described in my previous correspondence.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt">It challenges the “consensus” expressed in the final report.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt">This objection comes from the Intellectual Property Constituency (IPC).<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt">Whether it becomes a formal appendix to the CCWG final report, or is referenced as a URL to the CCWG Wiki, is an open question, to be determined by the CCWG Co-chairs.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt">I have advised our ccNSO elected ICANN Board members of this development, as the IPC objection makes specific demands of the ICANN Board.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
