We just sent this to you and realised that in the note Grace sent you we presume that you are only to listen in on the call today. But we would like you to present the table on the bylaws that you provided to the Client Committee this Saturday if possible. Sorry for the late notice.

Thank-you Sharon,

Lise and I have discussed the likely way in which we expect this to evolve but not, as yet, had the opportunity to discuss with the full CWG Group or Client Committee.

We anticipate that the call today (19th) will be more of a staff briefing indicating the approach taken to the work and so it will form a common background or base for CWG members and Sidley.

We are conscious that the role of the CWG is not to intervene substantially on the agreements, save for if and when we believe that they are inconsistent with our proposal and/or in some way detrimental to the interests of the Naming community. It is with this in mind that we are reliant on Sidley to assist us in order to avoid the CWG having to analyse the agreements in detail.

On the 21st, we anticipate that Sidley will be able to provide the CWG with more substantial input on where, if at all, you have any concerns with currently available agreements and / or term sheets.
Whilst it is possible that some in the CWG may give the agreements full and thorough scrutiny, it is likely that many will appreciate being directed to areas (by Sidley) where there are specific concerns.

We do have a Client Committee meeting scheduled for Friday July 22nd at 14h00 UTC and we anticipate that this will be used to manage the legal work currently underway.
It will be useful to know who is assigned to which element of the CWG related work so that we can all be sure that the correct people are invited to and present at the relevant meetings.
We are ever mindful of appropriate use of resources and associated costs.

The chairs have asked me to invite you to participate on the CWG-Stewardship calls on 21 July at 06:00 UTC and on 28 July at 14:00 UTC. I have forwarded you the invitations for these calls. Both of these calls will deal with the naming functions contract as well as the intercompany agreement, and the CWG-Stewardship will request Sidley’s assistance in preparing public comment responses to these documents.

We acknowledge that this is late notice, but we also wanted to extend the invitation for you to join the CWG-Stewardship call tomorrow (19 July) at 14:00 UTC. While you are not expected to comment or present, it may be helpful for you to attend and observe the call since ICANN staff will be doing an introduction to the contracts. In the case that you are available, I have forwarded the invite for that call to both of you as well. Attached is the email with the agenda and relevant documents for the call.
