Guru,

Some of us in the GNSO and ccNSO are working on descriptions of current processes that will hopefully be distributed later this week. I think that they will help answer your questions.

Subject: [CWG-Stewardship] Differences in oversight requirements for ccTLD and gTLD communities

I request the experienced members to explain how the oversight requirements for the ccTLD and gTLD communities may differ.

From the IANA Functions Contract, I could only find different treatments for the two communities in clauses C.2.9.2.c and C.2.9.2d. These clauses are on the policy framework for delegation and redelegation of ccTLDs and gTLDs respectively.

Besides this difference mentioned in the codified clauses of the IANA Functions Contract, are they any other uncodified reasons for different oversight requirements? Specifically, what differences between the ccTLD and gTLD communities can lead to what sort of different possibilities in terms of institutional structures for oversight?
