It is ok :) we understand. Alan Barret from AFRINIC attended the call and already reported to the NRO-EC, so is all ok.

If that is the plan, can we set that up so that we can do the work in the next few weeks to see if the chartering organizations will be ready for that to happen?

I don’t think that is clear in their minds yet and about the type of people to appoint to the CCWG.

Anyway, I really hope to get this going, so if there is anything we should be doing to make it work, I appreciate your guidance so that we can set a realistic timeline so that we can lead this boat to port.

We had to pick a single time or do two webinars. Apologies that it is not good for you or Paul.

Currently, I hope that the Chartering Organisations will adopt the Charter at ICANN57. If that is the case, we can proceed to a call for volunteers shortly afterwards.
It seems that the COs had to deal with all of the recent activity and distraction around the transition and this removed the focus from topics such as ours.

The webinar will be around 2 am here in Australia, so I will not be able to join in, and neither will be Paul Wilson (our Director General) who was interested to attend on behalf of the NRO EC, but they are looking now from a volunteer from a more benevolent time zone ;) Thanks for sharing the PowerPoint, will take a look and see if there is anything that I would like to comment.

Thanks for sharing the tentative time/date for a meeting at ICANN in Hyderabad. I will communicate that to the NRO EC to make sure that they and the people from the ASO get there.

I would like to propose that the DT does some work to define a realistic timeline to reach the adoption of the charter. Can we do some thinking about that?

Jonathan will present the attached slide deck during the webinar, but of course, all of you are encouraged to attend and contribute to the session.

It is unlikely that any SO/AC will be able to adopt the charter prior to Hyderabad, based on the limited feedback received to date, and as such it is even more unlikely that a call for volunteers can be launched. Depending on the feedback received during the webinar and subsequent input from SO/ACs, the DT may want to evaluate what the best use of a possible session at ICANN57 is, or whether it would make more sense to cancel it (FYI, it is currently tentatively scheduled for Tuesday 8 November from 17.00 – 18.30 local time).

I would really appreciate if you can provide clarification about who will be delivering the webinar, and if there is anything that the DT might need to do/review before then, as the webinar is planned in just a couple of dates.

If the charter is not adopted with enough time to have the call for the CCWG participation defined before Hyderabad, we might need to organize a session to present the charter (hopefully adopted by then) to promote participation at the CCWG. Don’t you think?

Thank you very much for the ccNSO’s response to the DT’s request for input. In addition to your input, we’ve received a request from the GNSO leadership team to have a webinar to allow for a walk through of the charter followed by Q & A to address any questions there might be. As such, a webinar will be organized on Thursday 13 October at 16.00 UTC. As you pointed out in your email, in March 2015 the ccNSO Council decided not to participate in the cross-community working group on the new gTLD Auction Proceeds. After reviewing the proposed charter, the ccNSO Council respectfully acknowledged the excellent job done by the drafting committee. Further, the ccNSO Council revisited its decision of March 2015. After careful consideration of all arguments, taking into account the importance of the use of the auction funds and contribution that ccTLDs with experience in comparable projects could bring to the cross-community working group, I am pleased to inform you that the ccNSO now anticipates to participate in the cross-community working group as a chartering organization and will consider the charter for adoption at its upcoming meeting on 13 October 2016.
