[DTB] Draft Survey

Bart - I have edited a bit more, in part to put back in the actual numbers from the previous surveys and also to remove the references to the ccNSO.

Paul - Our emails appear to be crossing.  Not having heard from you, Bart had arranged to have the survey done by Gabi.  I have no strong views one way or another, but I would like to get it out this week.  Could you connect with Bart and decide what the most expeditious route might be?

Dear all,
As this survey is targeted at the ccTLD community, I have talked with Gabi about it, as she has great experence in running surveys with the ccTLD community.
First, she is willing to set it up and manage the process etc.
Secondly, she has made some suggestions on the lay-out and design. Based on her input, I suggest some changes as well.
The suggested version is included.

Once signed by the group we can start implementing.
The ccTLD community will be invited to participate through the ccTLD community list, ccTLD world list,ccNSO members list, and the ccTLD regional organisations will be asked to inform their members as well ( forwarding the introductionary email) Usually, a ccTLD survey is run for two weeks.
Once completed the results will be summarised and shared with you ( and the full CWG)

Colleagues - Bart has advised that translation of the survey will take 3 to 5 days.   I would like to hear your views on whether to take this step.  My own sense is that given the delay this would entail, and the overall time pressure we are under I am inclined to recommend that we proceed with an English only version of the survey.

I had previously asked for feedback on the edits to the survey.  Could we add the question of whether to wait for translation to the list and request that feedback be provided by noon UTC Tuesday.   Barring suggestions to the contrary, we will be proceeding with the survey as circulated in English only this week.

Attached is another version of the draft survey, both in 'track changes' and a clean version, which hopefully has not changed in substance, but rather I tried to simplify some of the questions and the language.  I hope we are now at the point of sending it out.

Bart - have we worked out who will actually put this into Surveymonkey?

Paul - if you have been following what we have been up to in DT-B (assessing the level of consensus within the ccTLD community on an appeal mechanism for ccTLD (re)delegations), we propose to survey the full ccTLD community on this subject. I am attaching the latest version of the proposed survey, which reflects comments from Bart and Maarten. It still needs some of the 'yes' 'no', 'if yes, go to next question' etc. inserted but this will be inserted when it is put into the survey platform.
I think that it would be better if the community received this survey in the same way as the other two that you initiated.  Would you be willing to assist in this?  I note that used Survey Monkey in the past.  I will see if someone has experience with it (mine is only rudimentary).

Hi Allan and all

Staff is also wiling to help, and per Jonathan's note on the call today, we want to help move the DTs as efficiently as possible. So, since Berry and I are good at the Google forms (and forms in general), we'd like to offer to put together the draft survey for you based on your document. We can have the group test the survey as they comment and approve the final text. Then, we can clean up the survey to send publicly.
Is that a workable solution?

Also, we will build out DT-B wiki space and make sure all drafts are downloadable from the Wiki.

Lady and Gentlemen - I resending the document that I sent you on Monday, both to ensure that it gets into the email archive and to prompt you again for comment.  I am presently teaching myself "Google Forms" which was the platform the CWG used in January to undertake the survey.  I am going to go ahead and try and put this current draft  into that format as a test.  I will then send it out to you as a draft survey so I can practice and to make sure that it is working technically.  I ask that you answer quickly - ransom is fine - so I can understand how the responses populate the underlying speadsheet.  Google docs allows us to edit the underlying document, so if you think we are at that point, I will move from sharing the MSWord document to that.
