Translations est depuis 1986 (soit très longtemps avant 2008, année au cours de laquelle est né le projet de lancement des nouvelles extensions par l'ICANN) la raison sociale, l'enseigne commerciale et la marque d'une société qui, en sa qualité d'acteur majeur du monde de la traduction, incarne les valeurs qu'elle entend promouvoir sur Internet dans l'intérêt même du métier de la traduction, tant des traducteurs que des demandeurs et utilisateurs de traductions. Depuis bientôt 30 ans, Translations SARL exerce son métier avec intégrité et professionnalisme, faisant rayonner sa marque Translations comme le porte-drapeau de ses valeurs fondatrices : la traduction est une prestation intellectuelle « à forte valeur ajoutée » d'une part, le traducteur constitue le cour même de son modèle économique d'autre part.

Translations par son extension « .translations » - volontairement et résolument non marchande - se veut être un ambassadeur au service de la traduction, non un spéculateur au détriment de la traduction : l'histoire, l'identité et le projet de Translations en sont la meilleure preuve.

Translations has been since 1986 (i.e. well before 2008, the year in which ICANN began its new GTLD project) the company name, trading name and trademark of a company which, as a major player in the translation world, represents the values that it intends to promote on the internet in the interests of the translation profession, for translators and the commissioners and users of translation services. For nearly 30 years, Translations SARL has conducted its business with integrity and professionalism, promoting its Translations brand as the flagship for its founding values: that translation is a "high value added" intellectual service on the one hand, and that translators are at the heart of its business model on the other.

Translations seeks via the extension ".translations" - deliberately and firmly intended for non-commercial purposes - to be an ambassador for translation, not a speculator working to its detriment: the history, identity and future plans of Translations are the best evidence of this.
