The objective of this meeting is to allow for new GNSO WG participants to come together and ask any questions you may have about GNSO Working Groups, procedures and/or processes. We know there is a lot of information to digest when you join a GNSO Working Group and would like to offer this opportunity to come together, talk and answer any questions you may have. If you are interested to join, please let the GNSO Secretariat know (gnso-secs at icann.org) and they will send you the call details. If there are any specific questions you already have, or any overviews or introductions you think would be helpful (e.g. GNSO Policy Development Process or GNSO Working Group guidelines), please let us know in advance and we will prepare materials accordingly. As this is a pilot, we are interested to hear your feedback about the usefulness of such a meeting and/or whether other mechanisms should be explored to induct new participants to GNSO efforts. Feel free to share this invitation with others that you think may be interested. We look forward to welcoming you on 16 December! Peter Dernbach:Hello everyone. Julie Hedlund:Hello all! Patrick Lenihan:HI! Patrick Lenihan:Hi! Chris Dillon:Hello! Patrick Lenihan:Hello! Patrick Lenihan:Hello! Petter Rindforth:Hi here everyone - this will be interesting, looking forward to work with you Ching Chiao (DotAsia):Hello all Patrick Lenihan:There appears to be a delay on my typing. ;-) Amr Elsadr:Someone needs to mute a mic. Mary Wong:Please mute your mics (whether on the phone bridge or in the Adobe Connect room) if you are not speaking. Amr Elsadr:Possibly more than one mic. Patrick Lenihan:How do we mute? Amr Elsadr:If you're on the AC room audio, just click on the microphone icon on the top left of the page on your browser. Mary Wong:@Patrick are you on the phone bridge or using the audio/mic in Adobe Connect? Patrick Lenihan:audio/mic Jim Galvin:Who is "w" in the participant list? Just wondering. w:hi, w=Wolf Knoben. sorry for the misprint... Nathalie Peregrine:I have updated your name Amr Elsadr:@Julie..., could you also go over the different WG tools for the benefit of new participants in WGs joining us. Thnx. Nathalie Peregrine:@ Patrick, there is a small write arrow next to the microhpone icon at the top of the toolbar Jim Galvin:@Wolf Thanks. Nathalie Peregrine:if you click on it, this gives you the option to mute and unmute Patrick Lenihan:Thanks...I chose Listen Only. Patrick Lenihan:I have a telephone icon there. Nathalie Peregrine:@ Patrick, in that case, you are listening only, and if you wish to speak during the call, you can either dial into the birdge, the details are in the email invitation, or activate the microphone in the AC room. To do this, you click on the telephone icon and choose Start my Audio, follow instructions from there, selecting computer over the phone each time. Nathalie Peregrine:Please read this as computer INSTEAD OF the phone. Rudi Vansnick:sorry for being late Patrick Lenihan:OK...I am in Libya. Am I the only one losing connectivity? Nathalie Peregrine:Patrick, if you wish we can dial out to your phone, please provide your contact details if this can help Amr Elsadr:@Patrick. It might be easier for you to follow the conversation if you get a dial-out instead of using the AC room audio. Rudi Vansnick:i was kept in another meeting, but fully with you now Patrick Lenihan:OK...will do so next meeting. I don't know the country code for phone, offhand Amr Elsadr:This is the link for the WG Wiki: https://community.icann.org/display/tatcipdp/Translation+and+Transliteration+of+Contact+Information+PDP+Home Amr Elsadr:;-) Peter Dernbach:is there is time within which we should come up with the initial report and final report? Rudi Vansnick:ATRT2 Glen de Saint Gery 2:Patrick, please send me glen at icann.org your telephone number and we will call out to you. there is no number for Libya Peter Green:Hi, I am Peter Green from CONAC, China.I joined the PDP when the Charter was just finished and have submitted my SOI, so my question is when the PDP calls for volunteers, do I have to submit another SOI? Peter Dernbach:Thanks Julie and Lars. Patrick Lenihan:OK - I think I have figured out the adobe mic situation. Amr Elsadr:@Lars: Yes..., a mind-map of the questions the charter is asking for answers to would be very helpful in developing a workplan. Patrick Lenihan:I will senf you my phone number before the next meeting. :-) Julie Hedlund:@Peter Green -- You don't have to submit another SOI for this PDP WG. Petter Rindforth:To summarize: Our timeline is generally "ASAP" ;-) Ching Chiao (DotAsia):for the timeline -- i guess we also take into account of other three recommendations in the IRD reports. It seems to me that it will be 1~2 years to get everything done Rudi Vansnick:oh my god ... Peter Green:Thanks Julie Amr Elsadr:Great to have Jim Galvin here to keep us up to date with the new EWG on internationalized registration data. Amr Elsadr:@Ching: I hope not. :) Pitinan Koarmornpatna:is Transliteration simply = Karaok ? Ching Chiao (DotAsia):Karaoke :-P Jim Galvin:I am part of many things, e.g. SSAC, but I am not a member of the EWG. I just pay careful attention to their work. :-) Amr Elsadr:I'm sorry Jim. I thought you were chairing it!! :) Rudi Vansnick:welcome Jim, nice to see you (again) Amr Elsadr:My mistake. Jim Galvin:co-chaired with Edmon Cheung - IRD-WG Ching Chiao (DotAsia):may I ask if anyone from the LEA sector? Ching Chiao (DotAsia):Agree. thanks Julie Rudi Vansnick:isn't that rather the taksk of the WG to reach out to them rather than getting them inside the WG ? Jim Galvin:@Rudi I suppose we could depend on reaching out for review of work products as opposed to being an integral part of its development. Mary Wong:WGs typically can and do send requests for feedback to other SO/ACs, including constituencies and stakeholder groups. Most recently, this was done by the Policy & Implementation WG and will shortly be done also by the Privacy/Proxy Services Accreditation Issues WG. Jim Galvin:@Ching Yes I understand and agree with you. Ching Chiao (DotAsia):thanks Jim Chris Dillon:I guess the most important thing is that there is regular contact between the sectors and the WG.
