[Gnso-epdp-team] FW: [Ext] IPC/BC minority statement

I must say I am rather disappointed when reading this paper.
Disappointed in the misrepresentations about our work, the current state of
our recommendations and the inability of the writers to accept and support
commonly reached compromises. In some parts, it reads as if the writers
were not even in the room and not party to the discussions.
Disappointed in the attempt to twist some of the meaning of the input we
have received from the EC and the DPAs into the exact opposite of what was
meant.
Disappointed in the characterization of issues we were unable to reach
consensus on in what feels like days of debate as not having been
addressed. Some of these issues were addressed more than other topics. They
were not resolved as no one was able to present a workable solution,
including the authors of this paper.
Disappointed in the characterization of issues we were able to come to some
agreement on as failures just because the maximum position was not achieved
and the system did not match "expectations" Guess what, that applies to all
other parties in this EPDP as well.
Disappointed in the continued attempts to infuse into the ePDP issues that
only tangentially impact it such as data accuracy and the legal/natural
debate; both issues that significantly predate the GDPR.

Essentially it seems to boil down to throwing a fit because the christmas
present was not exactly what you wanted. So you got a blue VW instead of a
red Porsche. Does that mean you are going to take your ball and go home
next?

I do not think we as the ICANN community will get a second shot at this,
which means that due to the nature of the internet, we would be stuck with
the status quo.

Some regards,
--
