Hi, just discovered a possible resource of geographic names maintained
by the U.S. Board on Geographic Names
https://geonames.usgs.gov/index.html

Information about geographic feature names outside the US can be
obtained from the GEOnet Names Server (GNS) at
http://geonames.nga.mil/gns/html/index.html which has a search tool
http://geonames.nga.mil/namesgaz/ including a way to download country
files http://geonames.nga.mil/gns/html/namefiles.html of geographic
names

These country files appear to be very detailed with names grouped in 9
categories
A = Administrative region
P = Populated place
V = Vegetation
L = Locality or area
U = Undersea
R = Streets, highways, roads, or railroad
T = Hypsographic
H = Hydrographic
S = Spot

according to http://geonames.nga.mil/gns/html/gis_countryfiles.html

A search of the WT5 document didn't turn up this resource so I thought
I bring it to the group's attention
