from joining one or more of those groups later on, but it would be most helpful if we can get an idea of who would like to participate in which group by that date so we can include them on separate mailing lists and have an understanding as to whether there
are enough people in each of the groups. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Second, a separate (albeit related) issue is the call for Liaisons from each Stakeholder Group/Constituency/Advisory Group, etc. A couple points:<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:.25in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">We had tentatively set a deadline of the end of this month to have everyone designate their Liaisons, but we can make that
<b>by the ICANN Meeting</b> if groups need more time. If you know now, that would be great to get that information as well. A few groups have already gotten back to us.<o:p></o:p></span></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:.25in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">We will leave it up to each SO/AC/SG/C as to whether it wants to designate a person for each of the three SubGroups or to just have one person serve
in that role. While certainly welcome, we do not want everyone to feel like it is a requirement that every Liaison needs to be in every group, nor are we stating that every SO/AC/SG/C has 3 Liaisons. <o:p></o:p></span></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:.25in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">If a Subgroup has a question for an SO/AC/SG/C, but the Liaison is not a member of that Subgroup, we (the Overall PDP Working Group leadership team)

part since you had said the Subgroups will meet separately in Barcelona during the same time slot. In addition, all WG members have to pick a SubGroup by October 8.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:#1F497D"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:#1F497D">It’s hard to see how one person could perform that representative role when the SubGroups meet separately to review the public comments. In order to understand the impact of public comment thoroughly,
a rep would need to participate in the relevant SubGroup. Michael has already said he cannot assume the representative role for any of the SubGroups since it is a great time commitment.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">As you are likely aware, the public comment period for the New gTLD Subsequent Procedures PDP WG’s Initial Report will close on 26 September 2018 (<a href="https://www.icann.org/public-comments/gtld-subsequent-procedures-initial-2018-07-03-en">https://www.icann.org/public-comments/gtld-subsequent-procedures-initial-2018-07-03-en</a>).
The plan for reviewing those public comments includes establishing 3 Sub Groups, each responsible for approximately a third of the Initial Report. You can see the topics assigned to each of the Sub Groups here, respectively:<o:p></o:p></span></p>
