I disagree.

I have no idea why you think the polls aren’t helping, as the results of the polls haven’t been shared with the group yet.

In any case there’s no need for this group to rush to any decision on a leadership team, as we have an interim Chair.

I assume that we’ll be able to review the poll results during the next meeting and move on from there

Hello everyone

Could I, again, ask for a slightly different tack here?  It is clear that the “polls”, as well intentioned as they are, are not helping us.

Given that we have a small group of people willing to be "uber volunteers" and take on a lot of extra work, could I suggest that that group get together on a call ASAP (and anyone is welcome to join that call); work out how to divide up the work and, with staff support, set a path for action.  A chair or vice chairs or whatever permutation will naturally fall from that discussion.

We need to grab with both hands people who are willing to be “leaders” and allow them to get on with it.  It will rapidly become apparent, in a small group of 7, who is able to do what by when.  We must embrace new people who are willing to learn and develop.  We must recognise experience and capability but we really ought to stop fiddling about.

I had hoped to see an agenda for the next meeting which is, I think, scheduled for next Tuesday.  It is now Friday.  Part of that agenda should include a feedback note from the leader volunteers about how their call went; what they have decided to do to stream the work and then we can start with substantive discussions.
