[gnso-rds-pdp-wg] RDS working group update

Hello All,

As all of you know, the RDS PDP WG meetings were put on hold indefinitely
by the WG leadership team pending direction from the GNSO Council and Chuck
submitted his resignation as chair of the WG.  We want you to know that we
are still waiting for that direction.

The Vice-Chairs met and decided to select co-chairs from the existing
leadership team.  Marc Anderson and Susan Kawaguchi will act as Interim
Co-Chairs for the time being. This allowed Chuck to move on with his
retirement but he has promised to be available for questions and input if
we should need them.

In case any of you are not aware, the Board has implemented a Temporary
Policy to ensure GDPR compliance and the Council is currently working with
the Board to determine next steps.  The Board and Council met on 5 June
regarding the policy development work required for the Temporary Policy.
The Council has scheduled an “extraordinary” Council meeting for 12 June.
It is unlikely that the Council will make any decision about the status of
the WG until after the next steps for the Temporary Policy are determined.

As soon as the Council determines next steps in relation to the policy
development process that is expected to follow the adoption of the
temporary specification, this will also facilitate a determination of what
is the appropriate next step of this WG, which could include suspension or
termination of activities. As soon as there is further guidance from the
GNSO Council, the leadership team will let you know.
