<p class="MsoNormal">So far, there has only been one volunteer
for the small group described in the email message below. I
believe that it is really important to get people that have
different points of view regarding privacy and data protection
so that we can develop questions for the Data Commissioners
that will guide us in our deliberations going forward.

<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The one volunteer is associated with the
GAC Public Safety WG, which is very good. In my opinion we
need at least one person each from groups like the IPC, the
NCSG and the Contracted Party House. People from other groups
are welcome as well but I especially believe it is critical to
have people who have needs that may conflict with privacy and
data protection restrictions. My hope as chair is that we can
improve our understanding of data protection requirements as
much as possible in Copenhagen and a key way of accomplishing
that will be to ask constructive questions that address our
concerns.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Please note that this is a short term
commitment. Our plan is to finalize the volunteers for the
small group in our meeting on Wednesday, February 22. The
small group would then be asked to work together to produce a
proposed list of questions before our meeting on February 28
so that they can be discussed by the full WG in that meeting.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Volunteers will NOT be expected to be
formal representatives of the group they are associated with
but hopefully they can solicit possible questions from their
group as time permits, realizing that it is a short time
frame.<o:p></o:p></p>

Data Commissioners (DCs) in Copenhagen, a small group is
being formed to develop a proposed list of questions for
DCs. The proposed questions will be submitted to the WG for
review prior to the 28 February meeting. We are seeking at
least one (1) and no more than two (2) volunteers from each
SG, Advisory Committee or interest group, to nominate
themselves on-list by Monday, February 20. The small group
will have one week to prepare a draft list of questions for
WG consideration.<o:p></o:p></b></p>
