Subject: [gnso-review-dt] GNSO Review Updates and Request for Input

Dear All,
Interviews
Westlake team would appreciate your recommendations of individuals for them to speak to in order to accomplish the following objectives. Please submit your suggestions by responding to this email by EOB Monday 29 September.

- Gain understanding of how the Working Group model is working, as compared to prior model.
[Chuck Gomes] The following in my recollection have been involved in policy development groups before and after the current model was implemented: Greg Shatan (IPC), Avri Doria (NGPC), James Bladel (RrSG), Alan Greenberg (ALAC), J. Scott Evans (BC), Cheryl Langdon-Orr (ALAC), Jeff Neuman (RySG), David Maher (RySG)

- Gain perspectives from groups that are typically under-represented (geography, etc.).
[Chuck Gomes] Edmon Chung (RySG) from Asia; Amr Elsadr (NCSG) from the Middle East; Olevie Kouami (NPOC) from Africa; Lanre Ajayi (former NomCom appointee to the GNSO Council) from Africa.

- Gain perspectives from individuals that are relative "newcomers".

[Chuck Gomes] Jonathan Frost (RySG), Michael Graham (IPC), Olevie Kouami (NPOC), Stephanie Perrin (NCUC), Nic Steinbach (RySG).

- Gain insights on how previous review's recommendations have been operationalized.
[Chuck Gomes] Bruce Tonkin (ICANN Board) chaired most of the new gTLD PDP WG and has been on the Board during the many years of implementation work; Avri Doria (NCSG) chaired the last few months of the new gTLD PDP WG and has remained active for all of the implementation work; Jeff Neuman (RySG) chaired and participated in a lot of WGs that have been operationalized.

[Chuck Gomes] In addition to the above I would also strongly recommend that the following be interviewed: Thomas Rickert (NomCom appointee to the Council) chaired the IGO-INGO WG; Mikey O'Connor chaired lots of working groups and is no longer active in the community so he would bring a unique perspective.

The team is assembling a list of potential interview candidates from 360 Assessment responders as well as other research, to ensure that they collect representative, diverse and fulsome information within the limited time available. Please note that Westlake has finite resources for the interviews, and not every suggested individual may end up being interviewed. Westlake will provide a list of interviewees and the reason for their selection, as part of their report.
