Hi all, some suggested sub-questions to Q1. They are somewhat implicit to what we are asking, but I would not want us to forget to cover this.
a. What information did the TMCH have but was not prepared to provide;
b. What, if anything, did the TMCH say they did not have.
c. Are you able to provide to us the raw data you gathered, if we think it will be useful to our task? Are there any constraints on this?
d. Was there any information that you collected in the course of your review which did not go to the issues you focused on and so was not used? If so, can you provide it to us if we think it would be helpful to our work?

As noted on the Action Items from last week (see below), the call will last for 90 minutes, with the first 30 minutes involving only the Sub Team to enable us to discuss the Analysis Group’s Draft Report on the TMCH Independent Review, which as you know was published for public comment on Monday.
As we would like to provide Greg with some sense of the questions we would like his response on, please send any additional questions to this list as soon as possible, and not later than Thursday 28 July. Please also let staff know if you will not be able to join the call with Greg.
For your reference, we currently have the following two questions only:
1. What sorts of data did Analysis Group seek from the TMCH and what could they not obtain?
2. What documents/sources did the Analysis Group find most useful and what (if any) would they recommend that the Sub Team look at? (NOTE: This can include documents that are not included either in the report (including the bibliography and footnotes) and materials consulted in the course of researching the report)

Please review the following action items and deadlines agreed on during the Sub Team call held earlier today:
FOR THE SUB TEAM:
· Review and agree on list of topics/questions for discussion with Analysis Group by Wednesday 27 July – please see Section C, Page 1, of the attached Updated Scoping Document for the current list. Please also note the following:
o The Draft Report on the TMCH Independent Review, prepared by the Analysis Group, is scheduled to be published for public comment on Monday 25 July. Please try to review the draft report if you can prior to the next Sub Team call.
o A call with Greg Rafert of the Analysis Group has been scheduled for next Friday 29 July for 90 minutes beginning at 1500 UTC – the Sub Team will spend the first 30 minutes reviewing the Draft Report for any additional topics/questions, and Greg will join the call at 1530 UTC.
· Review and agree on list of topics/questions for the TMCH Provider – please see Section D, Pages 1-2, of the attached Updated Scoping Document.
· Review and suggest documents and other materials for analysis (either by this Sub Team or the WG) – suggestions will be added to Section B of the Updated Scoping Document.
· In order to ensure a good turnout for the discussion with Greg Rafert next Friday, please let ICANN staff know if you will not be able to make it for the call as soon as possible. Please also confirm if you believe a Chair(s) is needed for this Sub Team.
FOR STAFF:
· Inform the full WG of the upcoming Sub Team call with Greg Rafert (interested WG members may join the call but discussion/questions will be limited to the scope of the work of, and led by, the Sub Team)
· Schedule a forthcoming call between the full WG and Greg Rafert/Analysis Group to discuss the Draft Report (to take place during the regular WG call time)

Subject: Reminder of Action Items - and prep for next Sub Team call
Dear all,
Please note that, with regard to a call between The Analysis Group and our Sub Team, I’m informed that Greg Rafert (who is leading the TMCH Independent Review) is out this week. However, he has blocked his calendar for a possible call with our Sub Team next Friday 29 July at 1500 UTC. Hopefully this will allow us to use this week’s call to complete our review of the background material (see Action Item #2, below) as well as to discuss what topics/questions we would like Greg and his team to address with us (see Action Item #3, below).
As such, staff will go ahead and schedule the next TMCH Sub Team call for this Friday 22 July, at 1500 UTC for 60 minutes. Unless the Sub Team directs us otherwise, we will presume that the agenda for this call will be to go through the Sub Team Action Items list (below), with a view toward next steps and meeting with The Analysis Group.

Dear TMCH Sub Team members,
The following are the action items noted by staff from the Sub Team call held earlier today.
FOR SUB TEAM MEMBERS:
1. Consider whether or not a Chair of the Sub Team is needed – if you wish, please submit your nomination for a Chair to this mailing list before the next Sub Team call (to be scheduled for next Friday).
2. Review the slides and transcript from the TMCH Review session at ICANN56 in Marrakech: https://meetings.icann.org/en/marrakech55/schedule/thu-tmch-review (under “Materials”). For those not on the call today, this Marrakech session included a presentation on the scope and methodology for the ongoing TMCH Independent Review being conducted by The Analysis Group for ICANN. The Sub Team members who attended the call today agreed that we should invite The Analysis Group to our next Sub Team call, to discuss their data collection methods and challenges, and to figure out what gaps might exist as between their work and ours. As such, it was agreed that it would be helpful to have the Sub Team review the Marrakech materials ahead of the call.
3. Continue discussions on this mailing list to agree on topics and questions to be discussed with The Analysis Group.
4. Review the scoping document to comment or add to the initial list of data sources and types.
FOR STAFF:
1. Contact The Analysis Group with an invitation to the next Sub Team call (IN PROCESS)
2. Forward the Sub Team scoping document to the full Working Group and invite input (COMPLETED)

Subject: Scoping document for discussion by the TMCH Sub Team
Dear TMCH Sub Team members,
Staff thought it might be useful to have an initial scoping document to facilitate discussions on our initial organizational call today. Please find attached a short document, which contains the following:
(1) the Working Group Charter questions concerning the TMCH (provided for purposes of framing the data collection that our Sub Team will be doing);
(2) some initial suggestions for data sources and types of data we might wish to seek; and
(3) existing data sources that ICANN staff used for the RPM Review Paper that was one of the background source documents for this PDP.
We expect that the Sub Team work will focus on (2), but hope that the other sections and contents provide useful guidance and information. We will have the document up in the Adobe Connect room today as well.
