[Gnso-sc-budget] Bullet point on the ICANN Academy

I agree with Ayden, I’be been following this group ever since created, it was meant to be a cross community silo breaker to put together all academic/educational program in touch with each other. The goal still remains useful, but every academy leader, weather ICANN staff lead or universities or schools, were very protective and didn’t want to engage in something that would open questions or open power struggles among them. So it failed. Everyone said they wanted to cooperate, but when that came to actually sharing a space most of them felt threatened, specially because the leadership of the WG wasn’t really MS, it was sort of one-sided. Not to say there were not neutral or truthful, but others didn’t want to follow them.
I think is ok here to say that this WG needs to either finish or reborn to kick off, if any.
