Hi Ayden and All,

That is a good suggestion, Ayden.  I think it will be a good component of the SCBO report back to the Council.  Speaking of which, staff met with Council leadership earlier this week.  Given the current state of activity, it was decided that the SCBO Charter Review and Report is not urgent and that we still await the conclusion of the FY19 budget cycle.  It was suggested that the SCBO reconvene in the later part of July to discuss lessons learned and draft a report.

I will instruct the Secretariat to schedule a few calls for us at our normal time on Monday’s at 13:00 UTC.

Once the FY19 Budget has been finalised, so that we can manage our workload over the coming year, I think it would be useful if we prepare a timeline for the FY20 budget process akin to the one for FY19 in that slide deck. Finance might have one prepared already, and perhaps we could just highlight the opportunities for where the SCBO might need to provide input or take action. Perhaps we could also insert the rough dates for when planning for the strategic plan for 2021-2015 will kick off; I think you mentioned on our last call that could be later this calendar year?

Please find below a link to ICANN’s Finance wiki page where it contains a 38 min. webinar and PPT on the Proposed FY19 Budget scheduled to be adopted by the Board on 30 May.  The materials provide a good overview of the changes (slides 11-13) to this latest version based on internal review of projects and the public comments submitted on the draft.  On the 31st of May should the Board adopt the budget, the ICANN Secretary will send notice to the Decisional Participants of the Empowered Community to open the budget rejection window (closes 28 June).

After reviewing the public comments received, the ICANN org and the Board Finance Committee approved the Staff Report of Public Comments, which was posted on 24 April 2018. As indicated in the Staff Report, several changes were approved for incorporation into the proposed documents. The revised documents were posted online, with a summary of changes, to ensure public visibility of the final documents sent to the ICANN Board as proposed for Adoption. These documents will be presented to the ICANN Board of Directors for adoption at a Board meeting on 30 May 2018.

The documents can be found on the  <https://www.icann.org/public-comments/fy19-budget-2018-01-19-en> Public Comment page under the "Additional Information" section.  

ICANN org will host a webinar on 24 May at 07:00-08:00 Pacific Daylight Time (14:00-15:00 UTC) where you can learn more about these changes and ask questions.
