[Gnso-sc-budget] strategic plan - ensure ICANN is technically robust and financially sustainable

Dear all,

In relation to the following line in the vision statement:

- Ensure ICANN is technically robust and financially sustainable

We currently have the following text in our comment:

- This statement is acceptable. The GNSO Council would like to see ICANN become financially sustainable through reductions in its operating costs.

Concerns have been raised that this language may be inconsistent with the comments that the SCBO has prepared on the ICANN Budget and Operating Plan for fiscal years 2019 and 2020. I think that is a fair point, so I am suggesting that we revise this bullet point to read:

- This statement is acceptable. The GNSO Council would like to see a downward trend in ICANN's operating costs without there being any undue impacts on policy development activities, which are and must remain a core ICANN activity.

Can you please advise if you have any concerns with this new language. Thank you.
