[Gnso-sc-budget] Reminder: Early September Activity

Hi All,

 

During the SPS earlier this year, the Council created an action item for the
SCBO.  At the bottom of this page is a section from the SPS,
https://community.icann.org/display/gnsocouncilmeetings/Action+Items.
Specifically, this group will engage current GNSO Working Group leadership
teams to understand resource requirements in the next fiscal year (should
they be operating) as the community prepares for fiscal year budget process.
My understanding is that this due diligence can be fed back to the GNSO
Council and ICANN Org to help inform the early draft budget allocations and
public comment towards the end of 2019.

 

Please start to think about the best way the SCBO can tackle this action.
For example, should the SCBO join planned WG leaders calls, or should the
leaders be invited to an SCBO call?  What categories of resources might WGs
need in general?  What due diligence should the SCBO do prior to the
engagement sessions?  Is early September (after typical holiday season)
appropriate, of should this occur earlier?

 

As the SCBO circles its attention back to the 5-Year Strategic Plan, we'll
want to have this resolved in the near-term as to allow time for staff to
prepare.
