[Gnso-sc-budget] SCBO Final Stretch - ICANN's 5YS&OP + FY21 Budget

Hi All,

 

The GNSO Council met yesterday and the SCBO was a brief AoB agenda item. The
link to the google doc is here (link

). The full Council has until the weekend to provide any additional
suggestions to the draft. They will continue to reference the v0.3.1 word
doc that was sent to them last week, as not all have access to the SCBO
shared drive. Thus far, we've only received input from Pam and Tom which is
reflected with track changes in the google doc.

 

The SCBO has until Monday 24 Feb. at 23:59 to provide any last minute
changes, for which we will send the final draft to the Council mailing list.
This will give them 24 hours to review before we submit the comment by the
deadline of the 25th.

 

Also, given the announcement that ICANN67 will convert to a remote
participation meeting, I've heard from our CCNSO colleagues that the SOPC
will likely NOT hold a session. Therefore, we'll likely not have a joint
session as was noted in the timeline below. The SOPC Chair, Giovanni thought
our joint session on the 18th was useful, especially the sharing of drafts
prior to formal submission. There's also a suggestion of each group
identifying two to three areas of the 5YS&OP for additional discussion with
ICANN Org staff and specific departments as necessary. For example if
further discussions were felt warranted on a particular Operating Initiative
or Functional Activity. Bart and I will come back to the group to further
explore this possible idea after ICANN67 completes. It's not confirmed yet,
but I do suspect that the Finance team will still host they're planned
session to allow the community to provide further clarity on submitted
comments. Hopefully, many here will be able to attend. As soon as I hear
more, I will let you know ASAP.

*	10 Feb - GNSO Council documents & motion deadline
*	12 Feb - 4th SCBO meeting
*	18 Feb - Meet with the SOPC to share draft positions at 16:00UTC
*	20 Feb - GNSO Council meeting
*	25 Feb - Deadline to submit comments
*	08 Mar - Joint session at ICANN67 w/ SOPC
