[Gnso-sc-budget] Draft Comment

Hi All,

A few things to consider:

1)
RE: the draft letter, I might suggest we change who it is addressed to. I’ve been informed that Xavier is the ICANN functional leader and PTI Board Member (replacing David Conrad). It might be best to address it to Kim Davies, PTI President and/or Becky Nash, PTI Treasurer.

2)
On 13 Oct, John sent a follow-up question draft:

“  Q:  Is it important for the PTI Board to attend ICANN meetings in person to be informed of GNSO policy efforts so that they can carry out their duties to the corporation?”

There is little chance that the SCBO will get a response to this question in time to submit its draft to the Council this Wednesday. I’ve also noticed that the FY23 PTI/IANA cycle contained a clarifying question period from 15 Sep 2021 to 29 Sep 2021. It seems this question and any comments associated with it will be better served through formal submission in response to the public comment period. On Wednesday’s call, we can discuss if this is warranted for the Council’s comments and of course the SGs/Cs have much more latitude in what they submit as their comment. This will also benefit the larger community in the question as well as the formal response from the PTI Board.
