[gtld-tech] .gov zone file downloads stale since November 16?

Dear Joe,

We have verified today's .gov zone file (via CZDS browser and API), and both files show the serial 1702520700 (2023-12-14 02:25:00).

Could you please try again and let us know if the issue is still present on your side?

I am getting strange results where if I download a zone file from the
browser after logging into the ICANN acount, I get yesterday's version
as expected, yet the scripted downloads pick up a .gz that when
extracted has a file dated November 16 and a serial in the vicinity of
that date's epoch count:
1700092762 (2023-11-15 23:59:22)

I did a browser download three days ago and it gave me:
1702261500 (2023-12-11 02:25:00)

Today's download via the browser gives me:

1702520700 (2023-12-14 02:25:00)

That raises a few questions:
1) Why is the regular download stuck in November?
2) Why is the website download unaffected?
3) Recent downloads give me a consistent time stamp for the time of day
which is different from the stuck version, which is just before
midnight. What changed there?

Is it just me or can anybody else confirm this observation?

Can we please fix this *and* add robust monitoring so that broken
updates generate an alert!

Joe
