Dear all,

Yes Avri, we are doing what the staff wanted from the beginning; They always
call the leadership training we are implementing now THE ICANN Academy while
it is not. I do remember very well when we presented the ICANN Academy,
Feliz proposed the leadership training to be implemented by the ICANN
Academy. We accepted but made it crystal clear that this could be a small
part of the ICANN academy activities. We shouted several times that the
ICANN Academy is intended to be the home of any learning activity in ICANN,
and Sandra came up with the famous pyramid including several briks and
several levels. We continue and we repeat that the academy is a whole system
of learning in ICANN, but what we see is they still call the leadership
training as the ICANN Academy.

Perhaps we need as a WG to do our homework: we have to go on designing the
general structure of the academy and present it to ICANN for decision. I
understand Sandra’s concern, and I think the best way to make things move is
to advance our work and present a comprehensive design and program for the
academy.

Never abdicate. I believe in this project and I’m sure with more effort, we
will convince.

Do you mean that we have lost control of this and that what we

envisioned is now a staff function that really has nothing to do with

the community or its original intentions, whatever they may have been,

anymore?

I agree that we should probably accept that we gotten what ICANN was

willing to give and move on to other projects.
