Naela/Bart – I have been trying to think through the next steps for proceeding with the SLA changes and have a couple of questions that might be worth thinking about before tomorrow’s meeting:

1. The ‘Process for Amending the IANA Naming Service Level Agreements’ (which has been added to the CSC’s wiki page) was approved by the CSC in December. Has it been approved by PTI? Can it have effect before the IANA Naming Contract Amendments are finished?

2. The above process requires CSC or PTI to formally recommend SLA changes, in writing, with such a recommendation to include, among other things, the cost, the benefit to the community and the feasibility of the proposed change. My understanding is that, notwithstanding the multiple discussions on the actual SLA changes that the CSC and PTI have had about SLA changes, this written recommendation has not yet occurred. So, my question is – can this written recommendation be done before the IANA Contract changes are made?

Thanks

Allan

Thank you, Naela. I’ve added your document to the Wiki agenda page.

All, please find the Process for Amending the IANA Naming Service Level Agreements pdf attached. This, too, can be found on the Wiki.
