[Idngwg] Table on variants

I am not sure how to reformat the table on variants. Here are some thoughts.


Definition: A name (name1) is said to be variant of another name (name2) if the IDN table in question has rules that allows for the direct derivation of name1 from name2. The consequence is that variant relations are IDN table dependent, and what are variants for one TLD might not be it for another.
Requirement: If name1 is a variant of name2, then name2 must be a variant of name1. If name1 and name2 are variants, and name2 and name3 are variants, then name1 and name3 must be variants.
Type of variant:

·         Blocked, i.e. cannot be registered or allocated by anybody.

·         Allocatable, i.e. can be registered or allocated according to TLD specific regulation.
Definitions:

·         Activated – A variant is activated if that name is assigned to the same registrant in the same registration is the primary registration, i.e. the registrant has been assigned the right of that name. Activation does not require being active in DNS.

·         Registred – A variant is registered if that name is assigned to some registrant as an independent registration.
