supports IP issues will be much better for sure. I remember in one of the MAG meetings that they wanted to raise the issue of PIPA and similar IP related issues in order to have less protection (as they put it back then) on the internet, but I with the support
of other BASIS members were able to stop this.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

should. Meanwhile, there's a virtual pipeline of civil society, academics and think tank types to these groups. On issues where we are all aligned, that's not too big a problem. But on the issues where IP/business is on the other side of issues, our voice
may not be heard strongly enough. The "trend line" seems to be headed in the wrong direction. Any effort to increase representation for IP/business perspectives is a step in the right direction, in my opinion.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
