<P><FONT size=2>ELECTIONS - ICANN NOMINATING COMMITTEE</FONT> </P>
<P><FONT size=2>The ISPCP elects a single delagate to the ICANN Nominating
</FONT><BR><FONT size=2>Committee each year. For the last two years that
position has</FONT> <BR><FONT size=2>been filled by Antonio Tavares. The
Secretariat, on behalf of </FONT><BR><FONT size=2>the entire Constituency,
thanks Antonio for his work on the </FONT><BR><FONT size=2>Nominating
Committee. The ICANN bylaws have a two term limit</FONT> <BR><FONT
size=2>for delegates to the Nominating Committee. As a result,
the</FONT> <BR><FONT size=2>Constituency needs a new delegate to take the
position formerly</FONT> <BR><FONT size=2>held by Antonio Tavares.</FONT> </P>
<P><FONT size=2>The ISPCP has held a call for nominations for the ISPCP
</FONT><BR><FONT size=2>delegate to the Nominating Committee. A single
nomination was</FONT> <BR><FONT size=2>recieved for the position. The
Secretariat has confirmed the </FONT><BR><FONT size=2>willingness of the
nominees for this position.</FONT> </P>
<P><FONT size=2>The nominee is:</FONT> </P>
<P><FONT size=2>Mark McFadden of BT Americas</FONT> </P>
<P><FONT size=2>Since there is a single nominee and a single position, the
</FONT><BR><FONT size=2>Secretariat suggests that there is no need for a
formal </FONT><BR><FONT size=2>election. Instead, the Secretariat
suggests that the ISPCP </FONT><BR><FONT size=2>elect the nominee by
acclaimation. This is consistent with </FONT><BR><FONT size=2>past
procedure in ISPCP elections.</FONT> </P>
<P><FONT size=2>Unless I hear objections in the next 72 hours, the ISPCP
will</FONT> <BR><FONT size=2>nominate Mark McFadden as its delegate to the
Nominating </FONT><BR><FONT size=2>Committee.</FONT> </P>
<P><FONT size=2>If no objections are raised to the Secretariat, I will
notify</FONT> <BR><FONT size=2>the GNSO of our election result on Monday,
February 21.</FONT> </P>
