[ksk-change] Still a plan for a Public Root KSK Rollover Workshop at ICANN 52 in Singapore?

I somewhat agree that it might be better to gather some steam first before
burning that much fuel. Dallas IETF March 22 might be more conducive. -Rick

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the note. At this point in time, I'm unsure whether there is
sufficient new information to drive a workshop specifically on KSK rollover.
As you know, we're soliciting statements of interest for community
participants in the development of the KSK rollover plan, with the deadline
for that solicitation being Jan 16 (get your SOIs in to
ksk-rollover-soi at icann.org if interested ASAP!). However, given there is
only 3 weeks between the close of the SOI and the ICANN meeting, I'm not
sure there would be much time for the design team to get much substantive
done. If there is time during the DNSSEC workshop, we could provide a quick
status update of that effort.

What do others think? Should we have a public workshop on key rollover?

Thanks,

-drc

Folks, (and probably aiming this at DRC)

Is there still a plan to have a Public Root KSK Rollover Workshop on the
Thursday of ICANN 52 as there was at ICANN 51?

As noted below, one of the actions coming out of the ICANN 51 workshop was
to organize the activities for this upcoming ICANN meeting. The people
listed volunteered to help and Bill Manning also responded on the list that
he was willing to help.

Given that the Thursday would be February 12, we're just under a month out.
and it would seem like we ought to get working on this if it is going to
happen.

Thoughts? Comments?

DRC - do we have a room scheduled? (Or can we get one if we want to go
ahead with it?)

Dan

Subject: [ksk-change] Action #3 - Root KSK Rollover Workshop at ICANN 52

Action #3 - We decided to hold another workshop at ICANN 52 in Marrakesh.
We asked for volunteers to be part of a "program committee" to organize the
activities for ICANN 52. The following people indicated their interest at
today's meeting in being involved:

Participants: David Conrad, Geoff Huston, Jacques Latour, Joe Abley, Paul
Ebersman, Dan York

Q FOR LIST: Who else would be willing to participate in planning the ICANN
52 activities?

(Please reply to list)

Two notes:

 - We did not identify a lead for the program committee but I would assume
DRC would be the point person (unless he says otherwise).

 - We did not discuss whether we want to have a public workshop AND a closed
"interop" workshop as we did this time. This is something that we as a
group may want to decide. (Discuss.... :-) )

Regards,

Dan
