Thank you Pitinan, Sarmad and Samiran for supporting us at the NBGP group, especially the Bangla language experts and enthusiasts for swimming through the difficult period. For those who had laid down their lives for the cause of Bangla language, this is a moment to rejoice. I am also thankful to the Integration Panel members for understanding our proposal which had to be different from other scripts.
Finally,  all cheers to both Bangladeshi and Indian teams for a free and Frank discussion throughout the last two years,  and especially to the Hon'ble IT Minister of Bangladesh. This was the best thing to happen at the onset of Spring

Dear Neo-Brahmi GP members,

The Bangla LGR proposal has been published for Public Comment.  Thank you all for the hard work to make this possible.

May we request you to share the announcement with others relevant, a public comment process with wide community participation is an important part of the LGR development process.

Thank you for supporting and enabling multi-lingual internet for all.

Best Regards,

Pitinan

Brief Overview:
 |
The Neo-Brahmi Script Generation Panel (NBGP) was formed by nine communities that use scripts derived from the Brahmi script. The NBGP is developing Root Zone Label Generation Rules (LGR) for Bangla, Devanagari, Gujarati, Gurmukhi, Kannada, Malayalam, Oriya, Tamil and Telugu scripts. Of these, eight script LGRs have been finalized and integrated into the Root Zone LGR version 3 (RZ-LGR-3). The remaining Bangla script LGR has now been developed (proposal and supporting document). As per the LGR procedure, the Bangla script proposal is being posted for Public Comment to allow those who have not participated in the NBGP to make their views known. Based on feedback received, the NBGP will finalize the proposal for its evaluation and integration into the Label Generation Rules for the Root Zone.
