I spoke to Volker today and he agreed to the suggested change.<br><br>
The recommendation is to revamp the website WHOIS and Registration
information. We are saying that it should not start immediately but to
wait until we have our GDPR implementation reasonably understood. If we
replace that with privacy legislation in general, it is an excuse for
ICANN to delay the website work (which will certainly not be one of their
hot topics!) since there will always in the forseable future be SOME
privacy legislation coming.<br><br>
The Recommendation does have a date-triggered fallback, but it is not to
do the revamp but just to fix pointers and cross-links.<br><br>
Volker was also worried about making sure that the content DOES address
other privacy -driven issues other than GDPR, but the Rec alread requires
that the content be revised AND then kept current as things
change.<br><br>
