WORK UPDATES

 

There is a new work party webpage accessible from the RSSAC Caucus webpage on http://rssac.icann.org. The page provides an overview of work parties in the RSSAC Caucus, including a description of the effort and its current status. Two things to note:

 

NEW WORK PARTY: Packet Sizes

During its 11 July teleconference, the RSSAC approved the statement of work drafted by George Michaelson for a new work party and appointed Duane Wessels as the RSSAC shepherd for this effort. Please review the attachment and respond to this message if you would like to serve on this work party.

 

Best Practices for the Distribution of Anycast Instances of the Root Name Service Work Party 

Kaveh Ranjbar continues to lead the work party and is coordinating the draft document based on input from the subgroups. 

 

Harmonization of Anonymization Procedures for Data Collecting Work Party

Andrew McConachie is arranging the first teleconference of this work party. Lars-Johan Liman is the RSSAC shepherd. 

 

Technical Analysis of the Naming Scheme Used for Individual Root Servers Work Party

The RSSAC reviewed this document at ICANN59. Steve Sheng is coordinating the next round of work with the work party. 

 

  

ADMINISTRATION

 

Nomination Period: RSSAC Liaison to the Nominating Committee

As a reminder, the nomination period for the RSSAC Liaison to the Nominating Committee closes today at 23:59 UTC. Alejandro Acosta self-nominated and received a second from Robert Martin-Legene in late June. 

 

Minutes from RSSAC Meetings

The minutes from the 1 June RSSAC teleconference a have been published here. The RSSAC now meets on the first Tuesday of the month. The next RSSAC teleconference is 1 August. 

 

Upcoming Caucus Meetings

The next Caucus meeting will be held during ICANN60 | Annual General Meeting (28 October-3 November 2017) in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The exact date, time, and location will be confirmed as the meeting approaches.

 

Per the cadence of Caucus meetings at IETF meetings, the Caucus is not convening at IETF99 in Prague, Czech Republic (this week). The next Caucus meeting at an IETF meeting will be held during IETF100 (12-17 November 2017) in Singapore. The exact date, time, and location will be confirmed as the meeting approaches.
