The logic is that everyone is vain and they want to retweet their moment in the sun. winner is to get people to tweet quality content about the meeting
rather than people trying to win the prize by flooding twitter

<p>Also, by using a specific hashtag (as well as the #ICANN64 one),
the winner will not just be the person with the most followers
because anyone who is filtering/searching on a particular hashtag
will also see the tweets even if they are not following the
tweeter. <br>

<p>We ran such a competition during the North American School of
Internet Governance and it worked really well. <br>

I am thinking we should strike a balance on the two, because
we could have a situation where someone who is new to twitter
and has less followers but they end up with lots of tweets,
this would result in the impact being minimal as opposed to
those with more followers and more retweets to achieve the
noise we want for the ICANN64.<br>

The truth of the matter is that social media has become so
automated that if one was so inclined, even if he has only 100
followers or even less he could buy 1000 retweets ( from real
people not bots) for just $20 or even spend more to get more
retweets.?We even have apps that you can schedule tweet
broadcasts so you could just set up the app to tweet 100
tweets or more a day for you automatically.<br>
So just to be fair I have to ask, are we allowed to used any
means necessary to win??<br>
