Dear SSR2 RT members,

With regard to the discussion on SSR2 28 May plenary meeting around SSR2 suggestion 2, here is some information that may be helpful. Please let me know if you have questions or require more information about any of the below:

Implementation shepherds - You can see by example how the implementation shepherds are working in practice on CCT implementation here: https://community.icann.org/x/ugSrBQ. The role of the implementation shepherd is to be the first contact for any questions or clarifications ICANN organization is seeking once the implementation is underway. See Section 4.5 of the Operating Standards<https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/operating-standards-specific-reviews-23jun19-en.pdf> for more information.

A blog update on CCT implementation will be published soon, which I will share once available.

Finally, note that the Board approved RDS-WHOIS2 recommendation 15.1, noting the intent of the recommendation has broader implications for all community recommendations. See the scorecard here<https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/resolutions-board-action-rds-whois2-final-recs-25feb20-en.pdf> for more detail.

RDS-WHOIS2 recommendation 15.1 notes: “The ICANN Board should ensure that implementation of RDS-WHOIS2 Review Team recommendations is based on best practice project management methodology, ensuring that plans and implementation reports clearly address progress, and applicable metrics and tracking tools are used for effectiveness and impact evaluation.”

Best,
Jennifer
