Dear ICANN Staff,

As the GAC representative of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, i have received an email of .Saarland which is currently preparing a request for release of all two-letter strings matching country code TLDs, including the string "ci".

On the behalf of the Government of Côte d'Ivoire, i express the objection to that upcoming application to release this string to the general public for registration.

As you know this string has strong ties to the state of Côte d'Ivoire. That release of "ci as TLD has strong potential to creat a confusion with the ccTLD ".ci" of Côte d'Ivoire.

We therefore hereby respectfully request that the ICANN Staff should not preceed to the release of that two-letter and reject that upcoming application to release this string to the general public for registration.

Best regards,

Dr. ASSOKO HERACLES MAYE
GAC Representative of Côte d'Ivoire
